Democratic presidential
candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders both condemned
Republican frontrunner Donald Trump during a televised CNN town
hall meeting on Sunday evening, following Trump rally protests
that turned violent at the weekend.
"(Trump) is conducting a cynical campaign of hate and fear
for one reason: to get votes," Clinton said.
Sanders called Trump a "pathological liar" and said Trump
should tell his supporters that violence in the political
process is unacceptable.
Trump cancelled a political rally in Chicago last Friday
after his supporters and protesters clashed, and Trump has said
that Sanders supporters are to blame for the violence.
At a Trump rally in Kansas City on Saturday, police used
pepper spray to disperse protesters.
At the town hall meeting Clinton said she has received
messages from foreign leaders concerned about the prospect of a
Trump presidency, asking if they could publicly endorse her
candidacy.
