Brazilian federal police
on Tuesday arrested the vice president of Facebook Latin America
after the company declined to turn over client messages sent on
subsidiary social media platform WhatsApp.
Prosecutors say the company has obstructed an investigation
in a criminal drug trafficking case.
VP Diego Dozdan, and Argentine national, was arrested while
on his way to work in the city of Sao Paulo on a bench warrant
from the northeastern city of Lagarto.
Facebook has not commented on the arrest.
