The 66th Sanremo Music Festival
entered its third night Thursday, garnering a 47.88% audience
share with 10.5 million viewers, for an average share of 49.07%
across the first three broadcasts, said State broadcaster's RAI
1 Director Giancarlo Leone on Twitter Friday.
Technical problems during voting required a second vote in
the 'Nuova Proposta' section for upcoming talent, which
penalised artist Miele, who had been declared the winner over
Francesco Gabbiani in the first vote, but was then eliminated
after receiving 49% in the second vote.
Miele, the stage name of Sicilian singer Manuela Paruzzo,
has asked to be readmitted as a fifth competitor in the
festival's final judging Saturday.
RAI 1 representatives said they will announce their
decision regarding her request on Saturday morning.
