Economy Minister Pier Carlo Padoan said Monday that "Europe needs a growth strategy articulated in coherent national dimensions". Unemployment is far from being beaten and "this is why Europe is seen as a problem not a solution". The European Central Bank (ECB) is "doing very important work, which I am convinced will bear fruit in terms of more growth and inflation". Europe needs confidence, he added. "If we lack reciprocal trust we can't build common tools" based on economic and banking union, he said.
