Paschi di Siena (MPS) share prices are incompatible with the
firm's fundamentals, CEO Fabrizio Viola said Wednesday.
"The current, wholly anomalous trend has no basis in the
bank's fundamentals, which improved in the third quarter,
confirming the (positive) trend of the first nine months of the
year," Viola said.
Earnings are up and costs are down, he added.
However MPS shares continued suspended in midmorning
trading (-16%).
