A Romanian panhandler who spat
on and punched a young woman after she refused to give him
change has been ordered out of the country, police said Monday.
The 31-year-old man is homeless and can be ordered out of
Italy because he cannot demonstrate the ability to support
himself, authorities said.
He has 30 days to report to the Italian embassy in
Bucharest. If he fails to comply, he can be repatriated by
force.
The incident took place January 7 in the northeastern city
of Udine.
