Thirty-five soldiers are to be
deployed to the northern province of Udine next week to help
police patrol the border with Austria as part of heightened
anti-terrorism measures in Italy.
Thirty-two soldiers will take part in mixed patrols
operating 24 hours a day and the remaining three will have
responsibility for logistics.
The patrols will focus on the Tarvisio border with Austria
and Slovenia, where migrants and refugees continue to cross in
small numbers.
