A man who threatened to kill
himself by jumping off the top of the Colosseum came down on
Friday after a two-hour protest.
The man is a street hawker of Rome tours and he was angry
about a order by City Commissioner Paolo Tronca banning such
tours being sold on the streets of the capital.
"We pay our taxes, we are Italian and we want to work,"
the man said.
"This order has put all of us out of work and 45 tourist
agencies that employ 2,000 people risk bankruptcy".
