Vatileaks 2 defendant
Monsignor Lucio Angel Vallejo Balda said Tuesday he is being
treated well in Vatican prison. "They treat me very well and I
am protected," he told reporters on the first trial day. Balda,
his ex-assistant Nicola Maio and PR expert Francesca Immacolata
Chaouqui are charged with leaking confidential Vatican documents
that allegedly ended up in two books documenting waste and
mismanagement in the Vatican and lavish spending by clergymen.
The books' two authors are also on trial.
