Italy's annual inflation rate
edged up to 0.3% in October, an increase of 0.1 of a percentage
point compared to September, Istat said Friday, confirming its
October 30 preliminary estimate.
The national statistics agency added that its
consumer-price index was 0.2% higher in October than in
September, according to provisional data.
The slight speedup of inflation was mainly due to a further
increase in the prices of unprocessed food (+4.2%, from +3.3% in
September 2015) and of services related to recreation, including
repair and personal care (+1.5%, from +1.1% in the previous
month).
