The Lower House on Wednesday
approved measures to set up special sections in the nation's
courts to deal with an avalanche of appeals against rejected
political asylum claims.
The country is laboring to rescue, process and host
hundreds of thousands of refugees fleeing war, persecution and
destitution in Africa and the Middle East.
The first landfall for most asylum seekers crossing the
Mediterranean in often unseaworthy boats is either Greece or
Italy, depending on where they leave from.
