Outgoing Rome Mayor Ignazio Marino has said that he may run in primaries for his centre-left Democratic Party (PD) to select its candidate to be the capital's next first citizen. Marino quit earlier this month following an expenses scandal after losing the support of the PD, which is also Premier Matteo Renzi's party. "If the PD holds primaries to select the Rome mayor candidate, it's possible that I'll run," Marino said in an interview published in Friday's edition of La Repubblica. The expenses scandal was only the latest in a series of furores to hit Marino's administration.
