A preliminary hearings judge on
Monday ordered the extension of a probe into Tizano Renzi,
father of Italian Premier Matteo Renzi, in a case of suspected
fraudulent bankruptcy.
The judge disagreed with the prosecutor in the case, who
had asked for the probe to be shelved.
The elder Renzi is under investigation in the north-western
city of Genoa.
The probe into the 2013 failure of the Chil Srl newspaper
distribution and advertising firm, which was founded
by the premier's father, was opened in 2013.
