The IMF has been "prudent" in
estimating Italian growth of 0.8% this year and it could well
reach the 0.9% forecast in the government's economic and
financial blueprint, the DEF, IMF executive director for Italy,
Carlo Cottarelli, said Tuesday. Also next year Italian growth
may well be above the IMF's prudent estimate of 1.3% and the
government's forecast of 1.6% is realistic, Cottarelli said.
