Piero Fassino, the head of Italian city and town councils association ANCI, said Thursday that central government will need to give local authorities some five billion euros if Premier Matteo Renzi's executive abolishes municipal services tax TASI and property tax IMU on farms next year. "The abolition of TASI and agricultural IMU must at the same time feature (the allocation) of resources equivalent to five billion euros," said Fassino, who is also mayor of Turin and a member of Renzi's centre-left Democratic Party (PD).
