Israeli high school students at Expo on Tuesday displayed clothing and objects they produced from a material derived from bacteria.
The "ScobyDo" project, so named for the acronym "symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast," produced the material using a bacteria base from a traditional fermented tea drink known as kombucha.
The students came from the Danciger Darca Comprehensive High School in northern Galilee and presented their research together with professors from the school's biotechnology department.
