The anti-immigrant and anti-EU
Danish People's Party (DF) scored a significant victory in
national elections on Friday, taking home 21% of the vote to
become the second-biggest party in parliament.
Although the Social Democratic Party remains the top party
with 26% of the vote, Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt
resigned, conceding defeat to former prime minister Lars L›kke
Rasmussen, leader of the conservative Liberal Party.
Although the Liberal Party came third on 19.5%, it received
enough coalition votes to grab the 90-seat majority necessary to
put its leader in power.
