European Migration and Home
Affairs Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos said Wednesday that
the EC had never used the word "quota, which we don't like" amid
a row over relocating asylum seekers. "We do not propose
establishing quotas," he said, explaining that the EC proposal,
Agenda for Immigration, proposes "minimal solidarity per State".
Earlier the EC said its latest proposal would cover 40,000
Syrians and Eritreans who arrived after April 15.
