Alitalia said Tuesday it would not
renew its partnership and ancillary joint ventures with Air
France-KLM when these expire in 2017.
The decision comes after the Italian flag-carrier's recent
tie-up with Etihad Airlines.
The move affects a range of agreements on market, sales and
cargo services.
Alitalia said that the original agreements set out in 2009
and 2010 were made in "a very different economic environment".
