(ANSA)- Vatican City, May 15 - More than 2,000 people from
Palestine, Jordan, and Israel are expected to arrive in Vatican
City to participate in a canonization ceremony Sunday to be held
in St. Peter's Square when Pope Francis will grant sainthood to
Palestine nuns Blessed Mariam of Jesus Crucified Baouardy and
Blessed Marie-Alphonsine Ghattas.
In a Friday press briefing on the canonization, the
Director of the Amman-based Catholic Center for Studies and
Media, Fr. Rifat Bader, called the nuns "a model of perfection
for Christians, as well as for Muslims and Jews alike".
Palestinian National Authority President Mahmoud Abbas,
also known as Abu Mazen, will be present at the ceremony.
