Milan Expo 2015, which begins in early May, will dedicate a day to Italian extra-virgin olive oil, building on a major industry exhibition in Trieste, local business leaders said Tuesday.
The day based on Trieste's annual olive oil fair - 'Olio Capitale' - at Expo will also help with promotion of exports of the liquid gold, said Antonio Paoletti of the city's chamber of commerce.
The Olio Capitale event that closed Tuesday in Trieste featured oils from all over the country.
Building on that, the Expo Milan day will include competitions for the best oils and will be used to promote the products in markets in Canada, United States, China and Australia, said Paoletti.
