Former Parma president Tommaso
Ghirardi is under investigation for bankruptcy fraud, media
sources said Thursday.
Italian Soccer Federation (FIGC) President Carlo Tavecchio
on Wednesday said FIGC had set up a plan for
bankruptcy-threatened Parma to go ahead with its Sunday home
match with Atalanta.
"We have laid on a plan to enable the game to go ahead,"
Tavecchio said after a meeting with Parma Mayor Federico
Pizzarotti and Serie A representatives.
Pizzarotti said there was "a 50% chance" of the match being
played. The news came two days after Giovanni Malago', the head
of Italian Olympic Committee CONI, blasted the buck-passing on
Parma and said the authorities were ready to intervene.
Bottom side Parma's away game at Genoa was postponed last
weekend, as was their home game the week before against Udinese,
because of their financial plight.
