(ANSA) Venice, February 11 - Anti-globalisation
demonstrators protesting Germany's policy toward Greece smashed
two windows at the German Consulate in Venice Thursday after
hurling smoke bombs, eggs and tomatoes at the mission in the
lagoon city, police said.
Greece's debt "can't be in the hands of the troika and not
of the people who have democratically elected their
representatives," said local 'No Global' leader Tommaso
Cacciari.
"We are all Greeks," he added, "we will see you on the
barricades".
Demonstrators chanted "No to the ECB, no to austerity".
