Islamic State (ISIS) militants
systematically kill, torture and rape children and families
belonging to minority groups in Iraq, the United Nations said
Thursday.
In many cases the children are subject to mass killings but
also crucified, decapitated and buried alive, according to a
report by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.
In light of the findings the committee called on the Iraqi
government to step up efforts to protect children and their
families.
