Alessandro Michele unveiled as Gucci's new lead designer

Former No.2 replaces Frida Giannini

(ANSA) - Milan, January 21 - Alessandro Michele was officially named Gucci's lead designer Wednesday, replacing Frida Giannini who has left earlier than expected. Former assistant designer Michele appeared on the catwalk at the end of the fall/winter menswear show two days ago after leading Gucci's creative team for that new range. Giannini, whose departure was announced in December, was initially expected to stay on until the end of February.
