Pope Francis on Monday
called for the so-called two-State solution to the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict to "become effective" in an address
to diplomats. The pope said he hoped that "negotiations between
the two sides can resume, in order to stop the violence and
reach a solution that enables the Palestinian and Israeli
peoples to finally live in peace, inside borders clearly
established and recognised internationally, so that the
'two-State solution' becomes effective".
