A 66-year-old man stabbed his
36-year-old wife to death Tuesday night in what police said was
"a crime of passion" following an argument, sources said
Wednesday.
Franco Sorgenti, a retired AST steel plant technical
consultant, attacked his wife Laura Livi in their home in the
Umbrian city of Terni, fatally stabbing her in the abdomen with
a large kitchen knife while their daughters, aged two and seven,
slept in another room.
He immediately left the house and turned himself in to
police, confessing to the crime.
