Two German hostages held by
Philippines Islamist group Abu Sayyaf since April were freed
Friday, German news agency DPA said citing a local radio
station.
An Abu Sayyaf member said Germany had paid a ransom.
Last month the jihadist group threatened to kill the
hostages unless Germany stopped supporting United States air
strikes against Islamic State (ISIS) militants in Syria and
Iraq.
Germany replied that its anti-ISIS strategy would not
change.
