United Kingdom Independence
Party (UKIP) leader Nigel Farage on Monday threw his weight
behind a request for a referendum on leaving the euro made by
his European Parliament ally, Beppe Grillo's anti-establishment
5-Star Movement (M5S).
"I'm happy that Beppe Grillo and his activists have asked
for a public consultation on this issue of vital importance,"
said Farage.
"The euro has been an economic and social disaster for
Italians.
"Let the people have their say, let them have the right to
defend their future".
