Italy is being held back by
bureaucracy, high taxes, lack of access to credit, and
restrictive labor laws, the World Economic Forum (WEF) said
Wednesday in its 2014-2015 Global Competitiveness Report.
The report ranks 144 economies based on what it says are
the drivers of their productivity and prosperity.
Italy's labor law placed it near the bottom the list at
141, while its justice system, government efficiency, and tax
incentives to stimulate investment and job creation put it in
143rd place, the Swiss non-profit said.
