There is no recovery in sight for
Italy's enfeebled print-journalism industry, a report issued
Wednesday said.
Last year revenues for newspapers and magazines both
suffered double-digit declines, with advertising revenue down
nearly 20%, according to Italian newspaper and magazine
publishers federation FIEG.
"In the last month of 2013 and the first part of this year,
there were signs of economic recovery in the country," said the
report, which stressed however that the recovery will "have a
very limited impact on print journalism, where problems are both
structural and cyclical".
