Italy's steel queen and former
employers' chief Emma Marcegaglia marked her first day as new
president of fuels group ENI by closing a technology unit's
plant in Milan.
The Marcegaglia group said Marcegaglia BuildTech's 169
workers would be moved to a different factory at Pozzolo
Formigaro near Alessandria.
Unions immediately called a work to rule, fearing job cuts
despite company reassurances.
Emma Marcegaglia, former head of industrial employers'
federation Confindustria, was named Monday as one of three new
women chiefs of State-controlled giants in an unprecedented move
by Premier Matteo Renzi.
