The extraordinary life and creative work of filmmaker, author and artist Pier Paolo Pasolini (1922-1975) are being feted in a show opening Tuesday in Rome, the city where he spent the second half of his life. The retrospective, entitled Pasolini Roma, runs through July 20 at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, focusing on Pasolini's love-hate relationship with the Italian capital through pages from his diary, travel notes, television interviews, and pictures, portraying him with a range of artists including Anna Magnani, Maria Callas, Orson Wells and Jean Luc Godard.
It also showcases clips from movies like The Hawks and the Sparrows (1966) and Teorema (1968) as well as some of his books highlighting his political passions and activism.
