08 February, 14:10

(ANSAmed) - BELGRADE, FEBRUARY 8 - Italian Speaker of the House Gianfranco Fini, today in visit to Belgrade, has stressed the importance of continuing the dialogue on Kosovo and the need to implement the agreements that were reached by Serbia and Kosovo. ''It is important that the dialogue continues, and that the agreements that have already been reached are implemented,'' said Fini, adding that ''there are no ultimatums for Serbia'' regarding the Kosovo issue ''and for its path to the EU." Fini has discussed the Kosovo question with Serbia's Speaker of the House Slavica Djukic Dejanovic, with whom he held a press conference after their talk. Djukic Dejanovic has thanked Italy for its continuing support to Serbia's European aspirations.

''The friendship that exists between our two countries is real, and this becomes evident from the fact that more than 200 Italian companies are active in Serbia and that Italy is Serbia's third-important trade partner. Today's meeting was the third with Fini in the past four years,'' said the Speaker of the House, underlining that ''Fini knows the situation in Serbia very well." (ANSAmed).
